The older I’ve gotten..the more I’ve learned to love Christmas. When I was younger..Christmas was honestly all about getting good presents. I used to get in trouble by my mom for “searching” around the house for them..always figuring out where they were hidden before she had a chance to wrap them. It was sooo fun to me finding all of the things I had begged my mom the whole entire year for..only to be just as happy to get it Christmas morning, even if I knew what it was already. Now that I am older, nothing more puts a smile on my face then watching someone’s face light up because they received a gift that they love. The joy of giving is what truly makes me happy. Christmas to me means so much more now that I truly understand the gift of giving to others. I was asked by Ignite Media to participate in the #ASGiveWarmth Campaign, sponsored by Altar’d State. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own.
Altar’d State’s mission is simple: serving as an inspiration, empowering others by giving more than they receive & standing out for good to glorify God (yasss!). Helping others has always been really important to me. For example, earlier this year the city that I love and have learned to call home, Houston, experienced a natural disaster. A flood ruined many peoples homes, all of their belongings and in lack of better terms, their lives as well. I spent days trying to figure out a way that Styl’d Grace could contribute. I decided to partner with my local Altar’d State store and host a shopping event where proceeds would go to Children who needed school supplies for the upcoming school year. Through my local Altar’d State partnership, I was able to donate to children in need and help them prepare for school this year, giving them a little bit of hope in an unfortunate circumstance.
Doing good has & always will feel good. My event was small compared to what Altar’d State does to give on a regular basis! Every Monday, proceeds of sales from every store go to a different charity. As if shopping for a cause could get any easier, all you have to do is buy something on a Monday from the store. I love that about this brand, as if the clothes aren’t enough to shop at the store anyways- you now have another reason! There’s so much cute stuff this gift giving season to pick from too- I was able to get some goodies for my mom, my dog, and my best gals all in one trip!
Giving is always worth it, knowing that you are going to put a smile on someone elses face. Altar’d State continues to give on a regular basis, and this Christmas is no different. Join me in giving this year and always remember to Stand out for Good.
This weekend was so good..but writing this (Sunday night), I totally already have a case of the Mondays! Mondays and I have such a love/hate relationship- I love them because they’re the beginning of another week…but also hate them because they’re the beginning of another week. Either way, Mondays are always a bit hectic for me, so what better than this cozy cardi?! It’s from my favorite, target, and was such a good deal.
I originally got this cardigan for a work trip to NYC I had last month. Although I didn’t wear it in the big apple, I did keep it and have been wearing it in Houston the last few weeks since it is actually for once. It’s so funny- I always complain that it’s not cold enough in Texas during this time of year, then complain when it’s actually cold. This grey cardigan has for sure come in handy, it’s long enough to wear with denim & I also wore it with a super cute mini skirt the other day and it was adorbs!
Most of the cardis below are under $50!:
Either way.. I for sure have been loving the fact that I am actually getting to wear my winter wardrobe once. I mean..it snowed in Houston last week for crying out loud. That like never happens. Even though it wasn’t like “real snow” to me since I’m from NY. Real snow to me is considered a few inches and lasts longer than a day. The “snow” we had here in the H last week was more like “snow drizzle” (totally just made that up, ha), but either way I will take it. It actually feels like Christmas for once with the “cold weather” and all…and I hate to say that I kind of love it!
It’s finally cold (& rainy) this week in Houston & I actually for the first time ever had a realization that I barely have any sweaters! Since it hardly gets cold in here in Houston, I don’t really get to wear a “winter wardrobe” most of the time. I went out and picked up a few sweaters from H&M last week & got such good deals. I know what you’re thinking…no these were not on a special “Black Friday” sale..they were just really good deals!
Speaking of Black Friday… I totally dragged my mama out with my on Thanksgiving! We stuffed our faces all day, starting the morning off with homemade fruit tarts and ended with Lobster that it was the perfect excuse to go “walk our food off” at the mall. We started at Ulta & we both got some cute stocking stuffers…then headed to check out some of our favs! We had already gone to target, so our basics were already covered. This sweater though..is still a steal and comes in other colors!
One thing I like about this type of monochromatic look is that it’s super simple without much thought. Teal is my current fav color right now & looks really good with grey! I kept my color palette simple with only these two colors & as always, minimal accessories. My shoes were a fav too- mules (of course!). I did get some new shoes too..you’ll have to head over to my IG instastories later this week for those though!
I’ll be the first to say that I am always a little skeptical of new face products. I have really sensitive skin, so I only use things that I know have good benefits. I tried some new products from Alba Botanica, and am totally a fan! They didn’t dry my face out and my face felt very clean and fresh after I used them. Although I have been compensated by Alba Botanica & Her Campus Media, all opinions are my own.
One of the main things I love about Alba Botanica is that the products are botanically-based, 100% vegetarian personal care products created with women in mind. The Acedote Face & Body Scrub, for example, has no harsh sulfates, synthetic fragrances, or artificial coloring. It also is non-comedogenic and can be used on your face & body. Basically, this product is a one-for-all. It makes your skin clear, without harming it by using strong chemicals.
Another product I tried was the “Fast Fix for a pimple”. I rarely breakout (fingers crossed it always stays this way), so when I do it’s really noticeable. This product is tiny so it is perfect for on-the-go, as you can carry it around in your makeup bag! It is oil free, hypoallergenic & lightly tinted so that it helps conceal all while fighting blemishes. It’s like a “undercover product”- working without anyone even knowing!
By trying these two products, I was blessed with the opportunity to participate in Alba Botanica’s #DoGoodDoBeautiful campaign. Basically, the brand is working with women who desire to inspire others in their own unique way, being conscious of the Earth & the products that we use on a day to day basis. This alone was a reason for me to try the brand, and I will continue to use it! Any brand that is conscious of the environment is always a win in my book. Also, did I mention that they have other products for hair too? Seriously..you have to check them out!
It’s not secret that little Parker is basically my child! I take him everywhere with me (including work) no matter how not-so-small he is anymore. He’s the littlest blessing I’ve ever recieved & is spoiled rotten because of it. Last year- he got a faux fur stocking stuffed with goodies, but this year he is getting so much more! I’ve rounded up some of my fav dog toys for the obsessed (boy) dog mom below. Most are under $50, but all are totes adorbs!
Side note- Parker totes loves the ball that has treats in it- so that one is a must ( & it’s only $10!).
