New York & Company has always been my go to for great staple items. From basic tops to super fun printed bottoms- they literally have everything. My experience was no different when I stopped by the New York & Company over in Rice Village last week- I literally saw so many things that I could use! I recently went on work trip- so stopping in before I left was a must!

I picked up the cutest pink lace top- who would’ve known! One thing I love about NY&C is that they have items that are versatile. “Work clothes” are no longer work clothes, and can be transitioned from work to dinner easily! I plan on doing that with all of the things that I got! For example- the pink top I got was perfect for a work presentation that I had, but can also be worn with some dark denim for a night out with the girls! Either way- I’m winning & this top is the perfect transitional piece for my closet!

Another thing I love about this store is their fab collab with some of my favorites! They have the Eva Mendes collection which is amazing, but better yet they have a line with Gabrielle Union as well! Picture  Olivia Pope in Scandal meets Carrie Bradshaw in Sex in the City  in this collection- it’s sophisticated yet sassy at the same time. I love it and I just read an article stating that the line was going to continue for a while longer, so I am so excited to see more.

New York & Company always has great deals too! I literally can build a whole outfit for under $100 and most of the time have some extra money to spare! So if you haven’t had a chance to stop by the store- make sure you do so soon! If you just can’t wait- you can of course shop online, but I promise the Rice Village location is so much better!

Until Next Time!

It’s finally getting cooler in Houston (kind of) and I could not be happier! Although I enjoy the summer time, there’s nothing I love more than fall! Before fall, of course, comes transitional weather in which you can be so creative with your closet! Since it is starting to cool down in most parts of the world, you can now wear sweaters & shorts and not have a heat stroke while doing it! Skirts & Kicks are totally acceptable, and you can finally do some closet cleaning. I, for one, have done all of these things in the last week & am more than ever ready for fall!

I love this maxi- as it was on of my many Nordstroms finds a long time ago. I wear it quite often, so am always trying to think of new ways to wear it! I recently wore it was some of my favorite kicks & got so many compliments. I’ve always seen others do the whole “sneakers & maxi skirt” thing- but I never did. Well- I have crossed that bridge && am never turning back! Wearing a maxi skirt & kicks is probably the most comfy thing & best idea ever, all wrapped in one. It’s kind of like saying- “Yeah I can go to brunch and totally leave from there and go run errands too”. Basically- this look was made for me!

I haven’t been doing much shopping lately ( for sure have enough in my closet to last for a while), so finding new ways to wear things that I already have has been such an exciting thing for me! Just because I haven’t been shopping though, doesn’t mean that you can’t! I linked simimars to my outfit, most of which are on sale, just for you below. Happy shopping!

Heading off to Florida for work later this week so it’s only fitting that my outfit of that day has palm trees on them! Palm trees are uhm “trending” to say the least. They’ve been showing up everywhere- from bathing suits to handbags and I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I obviously will NOT be switching my pillows out to incorporate the trend into my home decor (as some have), but I will rock these shorts the little bit of summer that we have left. I found these shorts over at Grace Anna’s recently, and was so happy that I found some that were a bit muted. Being that palm trees are obviously green- so have been all the palm tree shorts I’ve seen recently which I for sure was not about to wear. I found these ones and loved how they were more neutral, so of course I had to have! I paired them with this nude top which I also love- the best part is that it comes in a ton of colors too!

Palm trees are such an amazing thing to be. Being that I live in Texas- I always love seeing them when I am traveling! They grow so sporadically and are so “cute” if you could & totally remind me to live more freely sometimes. These last few weeks have been soooo busy (hence the lack of posts) and have slowly but surely been telling myself to “chill if you must.” Life is so busy ya’ll- between work (AKA literally best job, biggest blessing I could ask for), and lie- ya girl is tired! So tired that I haven’t even cared about shopping the Nordstrom sale! I’v realized that my closet is currently filled enough- I could care less about what loafers I could get 50% off this week and am more concerned about when I can fit in an extra nap. Seriously- #Adulting this week has been real. I did, however, manage to rack up some of my most recent fav palm tree finds- all are below, just for you!

So I started rocking overalls again last summer, and of course the trend continues! I just got this pair a few weeks ago from Gap, and love how they fit so well! Normally, overalls tend to be either too short for me, or too long- but these ones fit great! I love them so much I even considered getting them in a different wash/color, but soon realized that (for now) would not happen as no other ones are available yet!

For this look, I decided to keep it super casual (as usual) & actually wore flats for once! Again, I was minimal with the accessories as I didn’t want to overdo it. I added a little print with my off the shoulder top, which I thought would be super awk under overalls and actually wasn’t! I was thinking that like my arms would feel weird or something & that wasn’t the case at all! It was actually overall a perfect looking for a weekend outfit. Although I don’t have my shoes on in these photo, I wore this outfit with a pair of my favorite flats! These particular ones I’ve had for a while too, I got them on sale at target a few months back and I am a super fan! Normally flats  (especially ones that tie up) are not my thing, but these match so much and can actually last all day in them.

It’s clear that the overall trends is still not going anywhere & I have no complaints about that! I love the ones that I have and can’t wait to buy more soon- I’m thinking some colored ones are needed in my closet next. What’s something you’ve been “eying” and can’t wait to buy soon?! My rule of thumb is to leave it at the store the first time you see it & go home and sleep on it. The next day, if you still must have it and it’s still at the store when you go back to get it- it was meant to be (ha)!

Until Next Time!

I’m sure by now that it’s more than obvious that Rice Village is one my favorite go-to places to shop! Nontheless, there are some stores that I frequent more than others, one of them being Grace Anna’s. I love this store- not only is it huge- but they have tons of stuff ranging from kitchen towels with super cute quotes, to the mos comfy socks ever. In addition, the store is full of fab clothes perfect for grabbing a last minute outfit! I have tried many times to leave this store without buying anything- but always fail. This time, I just had to grab these cute little “Hello Summer” cups that were less than $15!

Can we talk about their clothes for a second? As stated before, I have come here so many times for a quick outfit! By quick I mean a dress, a romper, or a cute pair of shirts! I am always able to find something far from ordinary and love how they have so much print! Being a neutral gal, this store always makes my buy stuff I otherwise wouldn’t. I bought the shorts photoed above recently (in addition to the cups, lol), and can’t wait to wear them again! The print is neutral enough to match other colors, but can also be kept simple with minimal accessories!

Grace Anna’s is obviously a one stop shop for many reasons- as I’ve clearly explained (ha!). If you’re in the Rice Village area (Houston, of course!), I strongly suggest you make a pit stop by there soon! You could either leave out with a beach bag, a coffee mug, a new wardrobe- or anything in between. Either way, I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Until Next Time!
