Weekly Inspiration-Isaiah 41:13

Happy Wednesday! This week’s weekly inspiration comes from Isaiah 41:13-

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous hand.”

Everyone has their own fears. Some people are scared of spiders, some people are scared of animals such as dog or cats. I, for one, am terrified of cats. I don’t know why, but they have always scared me. In addition to cats, I am also scared to watch scary movies alone and I don’t like driving over bridges. Actually, when I was younger & was in the car with my mom, I would close my eyes and she would tell me to open them when we had safely crossed. To this day, I am still not a fan of driving over open water. Fear of something is a feeling that everyone experiences. Although fear is normal and completely common, fear is an human emotion. Fear is not to be kept.

Being fearful of something is not what God wants. In fact, fear is the exact opposite of faith. It is stated in the bible many times about how fear is not to be had. This though, is a lot easier than said. Fear is comfortable. Fear is an emotion that feels sort of like a hedge of protection- in our minds sometimes it’s fear that we think keeps us from feeling other emotions- unsuccessful-ness, failure, rejection. Fear keeps people feeling safe. We were meant to not be fearful. Isaiah 41:13 reminds us that God is there for us, even when we are fearful & shouldn’t be.

[Tweet “Faith is the substance of things hoped for”]

As previously stated, fear was designed to actually keep us from all of the amazing things that God intended for our lives! This week, my challenge for you is to write down a goal that you have, but are scared to start. Put this somewhere that you will see it everyday. For the rest of this week, be sure to pray over this goal that you have and ask that God will begin to remove fear that you have and replace it with faith.

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”- Hebrews 11:1
