Weekly Inspiration- James 4:14-15

Happy Wednesday! This weeks weekly inspiration comes from James 4:14-15-

” Why, you do not even now what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while & then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say “If it is the Lords will, we will live & do this or that.”

Whew- this verse is a lot to take in, where do I even begin! These last few months have been such a test of faith for me- I for one do not like having unanswered questions. There’s nothing in particular that I was worried about, just the thought of the “unknown” in life is totally not my thing (I hate it!). James 4 reminds us that worrying about the future literally does nothing- we have no clue what is to come & must always pray that God’s will be done in our lives.

I remember when I moved from Texas straight out of college- the day before I moved I got Proverbs 31:25 tattooed on my wrist as a reminder to not fear the future. Due to the levels of anxiety that I sometimes have, this verse also is always a reminder to me & I love that I always have it so close to me. These 2 verses in James are kind of the same- we should always remember that God’s plans for our lives are always better than our own! No matter what we think is good for ourselves, God always seems to have a little blessing under his sleeve.

Until Next Time!
