Weekly Inspiration- James 1:3

This week’s weekly inspiration comes from James 1:3-

“You know that under pressure, your faith life is forced into the open and shows its true colors.”

Another version says-

“..because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

This verse has been one that has always stuck out to me. Not because I like it (per say), but mostly because of the “realness” of this text. I like both of these versions because they can be inferred in completely different ways! Not many people that I know like being under pressure, myself included. Pressure makes most feel uncomfortable, out of their element & somewhat unsure. For me, being under pressure makes me feel like everyone is watching my every move. I have grown to like being under pressure, such as tight deadlines, slightly- as I see that I do some of my best work when in this position!

The bible says that “under pressure, your faith life is forced into the open.”  Simply stated, it is during tough situations that our faith is really tested. During these times, we must try our hardest to let our positive energy shine through & believe that God has great things planned for us. Diamonds are made under pressure, and it’s no different with life situations! Going through a tough situation, or pushing to meet a deadline, although stressful- can be rewarding in the end. This week, my challenge for you is to tackle a situation that you feel pressure in. Maybe you are almost to one of your goals for the month & only have a few more tasks before it is reached! Maybe you are really close to a deadline at work and are finishing up the last steps. Whatever the “pressure” that you’re feeling this week is-remember that each obstacle leads to another victory!
