Weekly Inspiration- Proverbs 1:8

Happy Wednesday! This week’s weekly inspiration comes from Proverbs 1:8-

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. They are a garland to grace your head and a chain to adorn your neck.”

It has been such crazy weather here in Houston. Due to this, the mail has been a little delayed. I was waiting on a package from my mother & finally got it yesterday. When I did..I cried like a baby. Not cute cries either…I cried like ugly, gross, tears.. you know, the kind you want nobody to be around for. I wasn’t crying because I was sad. Actually- I was really happy. I was crying for literally one reason- no matter how l am, or will ever be- I always, always miss my mama. Being so far away from family some days, it’s really hard && for me, yesterday was one of those days. Growing up-  sometimes are good, some are tough, but some of both are often taken for granted.

So many times, we take so, s0 much for granted.  Dinner, for instance. Many people take eating dinner with their families on a nightly basis for granted. Not that we don’t appreciate it- but it’s just the “norm” for so many. Since I have been back in the H and my mom in Ohio (we literally switched places ya’ll…tear!), I can tell you that’s the one thing I miss the most. Even if she did live in Dallas when she lived in Tejas & I in Houston..I knew I could always drive a few hours to make it home for dinner. The things I learned from my parents at a young age have always stuck with me. Even though I might not of understood some of things things I was taught when I was younger, the older I get- the more everything is putt into perspective. This week- my challenge for you is simple but also so so important. This week, take some extra time with your family. Reach out via text, phone call, or, if they are near, stop by just to say hi. Life comes at us all so fast, sometimes we just need to slow down and enjoy the little things.

P.S.- Deets on the outfit above can be found here!

Until Next Time!
