Are denim shorts in style?
In my opinion, denim shorts are never out of style- but the cuts of them have changed over the years. Recently, more loose fitting & a little long denim shorts are trending, mostly known as “mom shorts”. These tend to be more comfortable and more casual. What to wear with denim shorts
Denim shorts can be worn many different ways. They can be worn with a classic t shirt tucked in with some sneakers and a hat for a casual outfit or a flowy top and sandals for a beach or vacation outfit.
Denim shorts outfits
Below are a couple of different ways to wear denim shorts. Any pair of denim shorts would work with the outfits below, but my favorite denim shorts styles are currently high waisted denim shorts and mom shorts.
Denim shorts with a button down
Denim shorts with a button down are a great outfit when you are looking for something to wear that is put together, but very comfortable. A white button down can be worn with white sneakers and a ball cap when you want to be extra casual, or can be worn with some sandals on vacay. To elevate this look, try a colored oversized button-down.
Denim shorts with a graphic tee
Denim shorts with a graphic tee is an easy way to wear shorts when you don’t want to think much about what to wear. Nowadays, there are many “modernized” graphic tees, some being oversized with trendy sayings on them.
Denim shorts with a blazer
Denim shorts with blazers are a great look for something like a date night occasion when you are looking for something easy to put together but still look chic. Pair this with a bodysuit underneath in the same color for a monochromatic look. Want to wear a blazer and denim shorts but be dressed casually? Add some sneakers and a hat.
Denim shorts and a basic t-shirt
Denim shorts with a basic t shirt is an easy, classic look that can be elevated based on what kind of shoes you decide to wear. You can wear a basic t -shirt with a cardigan over your shoulders to run errands, but then switch your shoes to some heels for brunch.
Denim shorts with a sweater tank
Denim shorts with a sweater tank is an easy outfit if you don’t want to wear something as casual as a t-shirt, but still want to be causal. This outfit looks great when mixing neutral colors such as nudes, browns and blacks and flat shoes.
How to wear denim shorts
Below are some tips when wearing denim shorts:
- Make sure shorts are long enough so they are comfortable
- To keep your look tailored when wearing denim shorts, stay away from distressed denim
- White denim shorts paired with black is a classic look.
