The 5 essential fragrances I wear year round + some special mentions

essential fragrances

It is no secret by now that I am a fragrance lover. I love a good seasonal perfume or a classic that is well rounded and a great combination of fragrance notes. With so many new perfumes out now, I still find myself using my go-to’s that I’ve used for years and have only added a few new ones to my rotation (not really a surprise if you have been around for a while!). Contrary to what most people do, I don’t wear fragrance “seasonally”, but pick out what I wear each day depending on the mood I’m in and where I am going.

I believe that fragrance is sort of a way of expressing your personality when you wear one consistently. People will never shy away from telling someone that they smell good & most times, if you do smell good they will let you know and of course ask you what fragrance you are wearing. Plus, what better way to leave a good first impression than smelling nice? I listed below all of my favorite ones that I truly believe can be worn year round, plus some other ones that are great too!

Le Labo Santal 33

A gender neutral fragrance, I came across Le Labo years ago when I was on a trend trip for work in NYC. I immediately LOVED it for many reasons- it’s strong, unique and can truly be worn all year due to the fragrance notes. My husband & I keep this one in the house and share it we both love it so much. We actually fight over it because it’s so gender neutral. It’s woody (sandalwood & cedarwood) with a little bit of smoke but still fresh at the same time…truly amazing! This one comes in small bottles too that are great for travel or on the go.

YSL Libre

I started wearing YSL Libre as soon as it came out. I actually only bought it because I loved the bottle and packaging. A warm musky floral, this one is very strong & a little goes a long way. This one is great for date night, since it tends to be a little strong or another special occasion. Fun fact: I wear this one to date nights with Ry & always get so many compliments.

Tom Ford Soleil Blanc

Another genderless fragrance, this one is layerable with notes of floral amber, ylang ylang and cardamom. This one I wear a lot during the spring & summertime as well as on vacations.

Phlur Missing Person

The only word I can use to describe this fragrance is obsessed! Even though to me personally it smells fresh & clean, missing person actually has notes of bergamot, musk & blonde wood. This one is my daily go-to as a light, daily fragrance that can be worn every day and still make you feel (…& smell) amazing!

Gucci Bloom

My classic staple of course has always been Gucci bloom. Hence the name, this fragrance is also floral with notes of tuberose and jasmine buds. This is another fragrance that to me feels light, so is a great one to wear everyday.

Notable mention fragrances- some are new!

Lake & Skye 11 11 had to make it into this blog post somehow! Although it’s not one of my classic staple go-to fragrances, this one is one I always recommend and reach for often! Another unisex fragrance, this one has notes of amber wood & white musk. Another one that I must talk about is Parfums de Marly, Delina. This one strong & sensual, with notes of musk, vetiver, rose and lychee. Other notable mention fragrances include Chloe, AERIN by Estee Lauder and of course Kayali, specifically their Capri in a bottle.

I hope that my fragrance round up gives you some fragrance ideas to add a new staple to your rotation or try something new!
