Happy Wednesday! This week’s Wardrobe Wednesday comes from Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
With these past few weeks being so busy and myself having so much to do, I couldn’t of been reminded of this verse at a better time! Above is the NIV version, but sometimes ‘the message’ version of the bible is so clear and simple its almost funny! The message version of Matthew 11:28 is below:
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me- watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace.”
The message of this passage is so clear… it’s simply saying take a break sometimes! It’s so easy to get caught up in our jobs, our home lives, perfecting those hobbies of ours, etc. that it becomes normal to lose sleep and feel like you don’t have enough time in the day to get your long list of to-do’s accomplished. This bible verse is telling us to do the opposite of what we normally do-REST! This week, I challenge you to take that extra hour of sleep one morning that you know you desperately need or do something you like to do that you feel you have ‘t had time to do in a while. God wants us to enjoy life..and leave the worrying and burdens up to him! Have a fab Wednesday!
Until next time
