If there is one thing I love about dining rooms, it’s a good tablescape! I really like mixing prints and patterns and creating a table that is not only inviting and cozy, but aesthetically pleasing as well. I have always believed that traditional family sit down dinners was something I really wanted to constantly have, so have collected the perfect dishware throughout the year to do so. With Thanksgiving coming up, I thought it would be the perfect time to share some great Target dining items that would make a beautiful tablescape this fall holiday season. Whether you plan on having a dinner party soon, or are like me and just like having your table “done,” these tablescape ideas are great to add to things you already have at an affordable price.

4 Tablescape Ideas
Sharing below some cozy tablescapes ideas that I put together from Targets recent collection! I love all of the ceramic items. They are unique and can be bought separately as statement pieces but also look great when mixed together.
Neutral plaid tablescape
A classic take on a fall tablescape, this neutral plaid tablecloth screams fall & turkey season. Not only do I love the plaid print, but I also love the plaid linen napkins. It’s mixed with the scalloped woven chargers and how it looks when all placed together, especially with the brown ceramic bowls that I love. I also might need to grab for myself! This Target fall tablescape is one that I would have in my house all fall season long.

Green floral tablescape
I love anything neutral green, especially this time of the year! I think this tablescape feels cozy and feminine because of the florals. But it’s still very fall when you add in the dark colored dining items. This one is great for a Friendsgiving or another dinner party setting.

Blue tablescape
Contrary to the tablescape ideas above, this light blue plaid tablescape is a little unexpected during this time of year due to the bright color (and almost spring pattern) of the table cloth. I think this one is fun and almost a little whimsical so would be great for a girlfriends brunch or something else fun like brunch with little ones. I especially like the plaid printed tablecloth mixed with the floral dishes– it makes this entire tablesape feel “old” with a little bit of “new” mixed in.

Maroon floral tablescape
Another fall classic, anything maroon this time of year just feels “right”. This tablescape is one that is a little bold & maximalist like, due to the pattern on the tablecloth. Again, all of the colored ceramic dishes are my favorite part of this tablescape, especially the ceramic green bowls (clearly, I like green!). This Target fall tablescape would be great for a Thanksgiving dinner with close family or even would like great on the table during the month of November. It leans a little casual, so would be a great option to keep up for a while.

4 Tablescape Ideas to Update Your Table
Need some easy tips on how to update your tablescape quickly without having to go buy new dining items? Keep reading below! I have used the below tips in my own home when feeling inspired to decorate for the holidays. One thing I am is not traditional and I think some of my past tablescape shows that, like my leopard one for example. I love mixing neutrals and chic patterns to really express personality while having a little fun and our dining room table is no different. Sharing below my 4 tips on how you can make your tablescape unique too:
Add Patterns
Do you like plaid? Gingham or stripes? What about animal prints? Contrary to what most believe, plates can (and in my opinion should!) be fun. A very easy way to make your tablescape stand out is by having patterned dishware. I found this leopard set years ago with my mom at Tuesday Morning. When she saw it, she immediately went “omg you have to get it!”. I didn’t even have a house or a dining room table yet. But I bought the entire set for under $100 and I’m so glad I did. Using these on our table makes it feel more chic to match my style. I also added some neutral white & brown items to tone it down a little bit to match Ryan’s more traditional style.

Mix Metals
One of my favorite home decor rules is mixing metals. In my living room, I always have a combination of metals. Whether its bronze and gold or silver and chrome, I always have more than one metallic. In our dining room, I mixed gold accents with bronze & brown to make the space feel a little more warm & welcoming.

Enhance with other items
Faux fall florals, candelabras in different metal hues, cheese boards as centerpiece bases and even garland. They are all things that are great for elevating your dining room space. I have a cabinet with all of my “random” decor items. I always like to go through it to see what all I have that I can use to decorate our dining room area. Don’t limit yourself to how much you can decorate with things you might already have. I always recommend to “shop your own pantry” first when redecorating your dining room table. Then, if you really feel like you need to add something, buy unique pieces that enhance what you already have. Simple said- start with what is already in your house.

Simple is okay!
I think one of the biggest things I always see when people are trying to set their dining room tables is the feeling of having to fill every blank space on the table. I (contrary to most) actually like some blank space left and feel like it makes the space more functional and even a little more casual/easy. It’s almost how I view my living room too- I want the space to be beautiful, but not TOO beautiful that people feel like they can’t sit down, etc. Same with my dining room- I want people to feel comfortable to eat, make a mess & be happy.
