Read It Now: What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty

If you’re looking for a good, easy summer read than keep reading this! I first came across this book in the airport when I was looking for something to grab before I caught a flight. I opened it up while waiting at my gate and couldn’t put it done! What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty  is more than just a good read, it’s so amazing! This book makes you think about life in different ways from completely different perspectives.

“But maybe every life looked wonderful if all you saw was the photo albums”- What Alice Forgot, Liane Moriarty

The book starts when Alice, the books main character, has an accident at a routine spin class that she goes to on a regular basis and ends up losing her memory. The next 494 pages are filled with Alice recalling memories, choosing to see them from different angles, all while creating new memories as well. While reading this book, you get not only a glimpse of who Alice was before she lost her memory, but also who she is now and are able to see differences, both good and bad, between the two. Liane Moriarty is able to make you think about your own life while reading this, allowing to look at the positive aspects of every situation whether you realize it or not.

Also the author of Big Little Lies, you can see some the same characteristics in Lianes writing, such as how she is able to draw back to certain memories, times, etc- allowing you more into the characters life. This is for sure a book I can see myself reading again- I think every time you read this book, you might get a different perspective based on what you know from your first time reading about Alice & her years of life. This story is not only light hearted and warming, it is also one that you won’t forget. A must read for sure!

“Each memory, good and bad, was another invisible thread that bound them together…It was as simple and complicated as that. Love after children, after you’ve hurt each other and forgiven each other, bored each other and surprised each other, after you’ve seen the worst and the best…-well, that sort of love is ineffable. It deserves its own word.” – What Alice Forgot, Liane Moriarty

Until Next Time!
