Living in the Unexpected

How is the first month of the year almost over! I can’t believe that it is almost February already, when it still even feels weird when referring to 2021 as last year. 30 days into this year, I have already started a new job & am planning for some fun things that are happening. Looking back, I can say for sure that 60 days ago I did not expect myself to be starting this year with so many new things happening, but I am so excited. If there is anything the last few years have taught me that living in the unexpected is 100% okay sometimes. Honeslty..who would’ve ever thought we would be in a covid world 2+ years later?

Living in the unexpected means simply accepting that you cannot control things & trying to remember that on a daily basis. I used to get SO stressed out when something goes as planned, but I have learned that I am so much more stress free when I just accept things as they come! For me, this looks like:

  • Not getting upset/or worried when things don’t go as planned..whether it’s an event or something else
  • Being okay when I have to switch plans last minute (this used to drive me CRAZY when this would happen)
  • Thinking about all the positive reasons about a change, instead of the negative

These next few weeks, my challenge for you is to think about a situation or a “something” that happened recently ( or will be happening soon) that changed & you didn’t like it. Try to look at the positives about this situation and the “good” that can come out of this change- Live in the unexpected!

XO,

B
